Privacy Notice — Smart - Postal Calculator

This privacy notice for InsuranceFunda (“we”, “us”, or “our”) describes how and why we may collect, store, use and share your information when you use our mobile application Smart - Postal Calculator (the “App”).

Questions or concerns? Reading this notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the App. If you still have questions, contact us at admin@insurancefunda.in.

Summary of key points

Do we collect the details I type into the calculators? No. Customer names, ages, dates of birth, deposit amounts, sum assured and policy details you enter stay on your device. They are never transmitted to us and are never included in analytics.

1. What information do we collect?

Information you enter into the App — stored on your device only

The App is a calculator. To produce an estimate or a PDF report it asks you for details such as a customer’s name, age or date of birth, gender, deposit or premium amount, sum assured and policy term, and optionally your own name, designation, address, photograph and contact details for the sender profile printed on reports and visiting cards.

All of this is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us. We have no server that receives it and no account system that stores it. Uninstalling the App removes it.

Advertising data

The free version of the App displays advertisements supplied by Google AdMob, in banner, interstitial and rewarded formats. To serve and measure these ads, AdMob may collect your device’s Advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from it, device type and operating system, and information about ad interactions — including for personalised advertising where you have consented. We do not receive this data in an identifiable form; we see only aggregate performance reports.

Purchasing the optional Premium upgrade removes all advertising from the App.

Analytics and crash-reporting data

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used, and Google Firebase Crashlytics to receive automatic reports when the App crashes. These services collect app usage events (for example, which calculator screen was opened), a randomly generated app-instance identifier, device model, operating-system version, App version, coarse region, and — in the event of a crash — a stack trace and device state at the time.

These tools do not collect the customer details you enter into the calculators.

Purchase data

If you buy the Premium upgrade, the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We receive a purchase token and order identifier confirming the entitlement. We never see or store your card number, CVV or bank details.

Device permissions

The App requests access to your device’s storage so it can save and share the PDF reports, posters and visiting cards you generate, and network access so it can fetch current interest rates and serve ads. You can withdraw storage access at any time in your device settings, though saving and sharing files will then stop working.

The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, precise location, call logs or SMS messages.

2. How do we process your information?

We process the limited information described above to:

• Deliver and maintain the App — including fetching current interest rates.
• Keep the App stable — crash reports let us find and fix defects.
• Understand feature usage — aggregate analytics tell us which calculators are used, so we know what to improve.
• Show advertising in the free version, which funds development.
• Deliver purchases — confirming your Premium entitlement and removing ads.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not use it to market other products to you.

3. What legal bases do we rely on to process your personal information?

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:

• Consent — for personalised advertising and, where required in your region, for analytics. You may withdraw consent at any time using the controls in Section 9.
• Legitimate interests — for crash reporting and aggregate usage analytics, which are necessary to keep the App working correctly.
• Performance of a contract — to deliver the Premium upgrade you have purchased.

Where Indian law applies, we process this information for the stated purposes with your consent, given when you install and use the App.

4. When and with whom do we share your personal information?

We share data only with the service providers that make the App work:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers, advertisers other than the network above, or any government body.

The details you enter into the calculators are shared with no one — they never leave your device unless you choose to share a generated PDF or image, in which case the recipient is entirely your choice.

5. What is our stance on third-party websites?

The App links to official Government of India pages — indiapost.gov.in, nsiindia.gov.in and the official PLI/RPLI customer portal — so you can verify scheme rules and interest rates at source. These links open in your browser. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and linking to them does not imply any affiliation with, or endorsement by, India Post or any government entity. 6. How long do we keep your information?

The information you enter into the App remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. We do not hold a copy.

Analytics and crash data are retained by Google Firebase under Google’s own retention schedules, which we configure to the shortest practical period. Advertising identifiers are retained by Google in line with its advertising policies. Purchase records are retained by Google Play as required for billing and tax purposes.

7. How do we keep your information safe?

Because your calculator inputs never leave your device, the most effective protection is your device’s own security — a screen lock and up-to-date system software. Data exchanged with our service providers is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Do we collect information from minors?

We do not knowingly solicit data from, or market to, children under 18 years of age. The App is intended for adults — postal agents, customers and financial advisors.

Some schemes the App calculates, such as Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, involve entering a child’s age or date of birth. That information is entered by an adult, stays on the adult’s device, and is never transmitted to us.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, contact us at admin@insurancefunda.in and we will take steps to delete it.

9. What are your privacy rights?

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Practical controls available to you right now:

• Reset or delete your Advertising ID — Android: Settings › Privacy › Ads. This resets the identifier used for advertising.
• Opt out of personalised ads — in the same settings menu.
• Delete everything the App stores — uninstalling removes all locally stored data.
• Remove advertising entirely — purchase the Premium upgrade.

To exercise any other right, email admin@insurancefunda.in. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

10. Controls for do-not-track features

Most browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) setting. No uniform technology standard for recognising DNT signals has been finalised, so we do not currently respond to them. If such a standard is adopted, we will update this notice. The Advertising ID controls in Section 9 remain the effective way to limit ad tracking on mobile.

11. Do California residents have specific privacy rights?

Yes. California residents have the right to request access to, and deletion of, personal information we hold, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

Categories of personal information we collect: identifiers, limited to your device’s Advertising ID and a randomly generated app-instance identifier; internet or network activity, limited to app usage events and crash diagnostics; and commercial information, limited to the record of a Premium purchase held by Google Play.

Categories we do not collect: your name, postal address, email address, telephone number, Social Security or government ID numbers, education or employment history, biometric information, precise geolocation, contacts, or the contents of your communications. Any names or contact details you type into the App stay on your device and are not collected by us.

We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve months.

To make a request, email admin@insurancefunda.in. We may ask you for information that helps us verify your identity before responding.

12. Do we make updates to this notice?

Yes. We will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws and to reflect changes in the App. The revised version takes effect as soon as it is published, and the “Last updated” date at the top will change. We encourage you to review it periodically.
