Smart – All In One Calculator – Privacy Policy

Effective date: 8 September 2026 (replaces the version dated 18 April 2022)

This privacy policy describes how InsuranceFunda (“we”, “us”) handles information in the Smart – All In One Calculator mobile application (the “App”). The App is a professional tool for insurance agents. It is not an official app of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by LIC.

The short version

  • Your client records live on your device. We do not run a server that stores your clients’ data, and we cannot see it.
  • If you enable Google Drive backup (a premium feature), your client and policy records are copied to your own Google Drive, in a hidden app-data area that only this App can access. We cannot access those backups either.
  • We use Google services for sign-in, purchases, notifications, crash reporting, analytics, and (for free users) advertising.
  • We never see your card or bank details, and we never sell personal data.

1. Information you store in the App (your clients’ data)

The App’s Client Management, Proposals, and related features let you record information about your clients: names, contact details, dates of birth, addresses, policy numbers and financial details, photographs, and documents you attach.

  • This data is stored locally on your device in the App’s private storage.
  • It is not transmitted to us. We have no copy and no access.
  • You are the data controller for your clients’ information. As an insurance professional, you are responsible for collecting and using your clients’ information with their knowledge and consent and in accordance with applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
  • Deleting a record in the App, or uninstalling the App, deletes this local data (subject to any backups you have made).

2. Google Drive backup (optional, premium)

If you enable Backup & Restore:

  • The App copies your client and policy records to the Google Drive of the Google account you are signed in with.
  • Backups are stored in Drive’s hidden application data folder. The App requests only the drive.appdata permission — it cannot see, read, or modify any of your other Drive files, and other apps cannot read the App’s backups.
  • Backups are protected in transit by TLS and at rest by Google Drive’s encryption and your Google account’s security. The App does not apply additional encryption of its own, so anyone with full access to your Google account could restore your backup through the App. Protect your Google account accordingly (we recommend 2-step verification).
  • You control backups entirely: you can back up manually, enable an approximately weekly automatic backup, restore, disconnect, or delete all cloud backups at any time from the Backup & Restore screen. Older snapshots are pruned automatically (roughly the five most recent plus monthly snapshots for the previous three months).
  • We cannot access, restore, or delete your backups; they exist only in your Google account.
  • You can also revoke the App’s Drive access at any time at myaccount.google.com/connections.

The App’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. Your Google account (sign-in)

Some features (premium report credits, Drive backup) ask you to sign in with Google. We receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We use them to:

  • identify your credit balance and purchases (stored against your account in Firebase),
  • pin Drive backups to your account,
  • show which account is connected inside the App.

We do not use your email for marketing and do not share it with advertisers.

4. Purchases

Premium subscriptions and report-credit packs are processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment; we receive only the purchase confirmation (product, order ID, and state) needed to unlock what you bought. We never receive your card, UPI, or bank details. Manage or cancel subscriptions in the Google Play Store.

5. Advertising (free tier)

The free version of the App shows ads served by Google AdMob and AppLovin. These partners may use your device’s advertising identifier to serve and measure ads, in accordance with their own privacy policies (Google, AppLovin). You can reset or limit the advertising ID in your device’s Google settings. Premium subscribers are not shown ads.

6. Analytics, crash reporting, and notifications

We use Firebase Analytics (feature-usage statistics), Firebase Crashlytics (crash and error reports), and Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications). Crash and analytics data is aggregated and technical — it does not include your clients’ records, your backup contents, or your Drive information. Backup errors are reported only as anonymous error codes (e.g. “CB-022”), never with any client data.

7. App permissions

PermissionWhy the App asks
Camera / PhotosClient and proposal photographs, your profile and digital card
StorageSaving and sharing the PDF reports you generate
NotificationsClient schedule reminders and service messages
InternetPurchases, sign-in, backup, rates and content updates, ads (free tier)

Permissions are requested only when the related feature is used, and every permission can be declined — the related feature simply stays unavailable.

8. Retention and deletion

  • Local client data: kept until you delete it or uninstall the App.
  • Drive backups: kept in your Google account until you delete them (in-app or by revoking access and clearing app data from Drive) — plus the automatic pruning above.
  • Account/credit records (Firebase): kept while your account is active. To delete them, email us at the address below and we will remove your account data.
  • Analytics and crash data: retained per Firebase’s standard retention periods.

9. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including under India’s DPDP Act, 2023, the GDPR, and similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. For anything the App stores locally or in your Drive, you can exercise these rights directly in the App. For account data held by us, contact us below; we respond within 30 days.

10. Children

The App is a professional tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Security

We use appropriate technical measures (private app storage, TLS for all network traffic, Google-managed authentication — we never see or store your Google password). No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure; protect your device and Google account.

12. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the effective date above. Material changes will also be announced in the App.
